What is wireless M-Bus / OMS?
Wireless M-bus /OMS is the only open and cross-vendor communication standard for smart metering based on European / international standards. Wireless M-Bus / OMS integrates all media cross-divisional (electricity, gas, thermic energy, water including sub metering) and is based on the EN 13757-4 standard. The OMS specification is available on the OMS Group website www.oms-group.org. The OMS Group has developed an OMS test specification and a conformance test tool and also offers certification for OMS devices. This ensures the implementation of the standard in all certified devices. WEPTECH is a member of the OMS Group e.V. and is represented on the OMS board. WEPTECH is actively involved in working group 1 (AG1) and in the task force for sensor technology. The OMS Group is a non-profit organization and interest group of meter manufacturers, utilities, meter operators, electronics manufacturers, communication firms, and IT companies. Since 2007 the OMS Group has been working together to define an interoperable communication system for future-proof measurement systems.

Applications
wireless M-Bus / OMS
Wireless M-Bus / OMS is a independent open communication standard for remote meter reading of all media and is mainly used wherever reading via cable is too complex or simply not possible and spatial access to the meter is difficult. Together with the OMS Group, the BSI has defined the LMN interface and specified OMS as the communication protocol for it.
Smart Metering: Manual collection of water, gas or electricity data will soon be a thing of the past. Metering data is transferred automatically at the end of the month for the digital and transparent service charge statement.
Smart Building: No more mold formation in damp rooms. On time battery replacement in smoke detectors or safe snow clearing of roofs. This is what tomorrow's building management looks like.
