SWAN2 - Submetering in modernized and new built residental properties

We had an Interview with Petr Holyszewski from ENBRA Czech Republic. They are using our wireless M-Bus / NB-IoT Gateway SWAN 2 in the submetering field to collect the data of different meters in modernized and also new built residential properties.

WEPTECH: What was the problem / objective you had to face?

ENBRA: We are preparing for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2018/2002 of the european Parliament and of the council of 11 December 2018 amending Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency in the Czech Republic and therefore we were looking for a device that allows wireless and frequent reading of heat meters, water meters and EHKV.

WEPTECH: How did you identify SWAN 2 as the solution for your problem. How did the process of testing and implementing SWAN 2 worked out?

ENBRA: With the help of WEPTECH, we tested the wireless M-Bus / NB-IoT Gateway SWAN 2 in detail and looked for the equipment to be best suited to our requirements. During testing, we communicated intensively with WEPTECH, which provided us a good technical support.

WEPTECH: What is the current situation? Did you manage to solve the problem according to your plans?

ENBRA: We consider SWAN 2 gateway to be a good solution, as all our requirements are solved by SWAN 2. All meter data is collected over wireless M-Bus and is sent to our cloud via Narrowband IoT. Even though we placed the SWAN2 gateway in locked plastic boxes, due to saftey, it does not affect the Rx or Tx quality of the device. During the years 2021 to 2026, we will purchase a larger amount of these devices. The timetable cannot yet be determined because Directive (EU) 2018/2002 of the european Parliament and of the council of 11 December 2018 amending Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency in the Czech Republic has not yet been implemented. We are also planning to sell the SWAN2 gateway in the Czech Republic.
