Room for further growth

Groundbreaking ceremony for WEPTECH elektronik GmbHs new headquarters

After 24 years of good cooperation with GUMMI-MAYER, there is not enough space anymore in the building at Ostring 10 and the time has come for a new company location. We are currently building a new headquarters for our E²MS service company in the industrial park near the A65.

On Tuesday, July 13th, 2021, the laying of the foundation stone of the new building was celebrated with some delay due to Covid19. The Mayor Thomas Hirsch, the Head of the Office for Economic Development Martin Messemer, the Head of the City Building Office Christoph Kamplade, the investor and property developer Michael Münch and representatives of the media attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

On this occasion, Managing Director Oswald Maurer explained that the increasing number of projects in the areas of Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things are contributing to annual growth of around 20 percent. This can be traced back to WEPTECH's core competencies in Smart Metering and the networking of objects using the latest wireless technologies, which are among the fundamental building blocks of comprehensive digitization. At WEPTECH, these technologies are used, for example, in the Smart Meter Gateway, the certified communication module between producers and consumers in the supply networks for electricity, gas, water and district heating, in the devices for monitoring and predictive maintenance of pumps and in the systems for indoor tracking of component parts and industrial trucks.

In a systematically growing market, the new building will enable the further expansion of machine and human resources and thus create the basis for the further development of the company. Oswald Maurer thanked Martin Messemer, Thomas Hirsch and Christoph Kamplade for their support in finding a location, planning and approval of the new building as well as for Martin Messemer's support in the search for an investor and developer.

Mayor Thomas Hirsch then underlined the importance that Landau attaches to the framework conditions that are essential for the development of the local companies and the relocation of businesses. In addition to the designation of suitable commercial space, affordable living space and a functioning and attractive infrastructure for the increasing number of employees are an essential task of the city administration. Thomas Hirsch and Oswald Maurer equally welcomed that Landau was able to enable WEPTECH elektronik to grow on site.

The complex now built by Michael Münch in Maria-Goeppert-Mayer-Straße offers WEPTECH not only an appealing and spacious work environment, but also space for further growth from the start thanks to the additional east wing of the office building and a second production hall.In a construction period characterized by various supply bottlenecks, the gradual move into the new building is now planned for the second half of 2022.
