WEPTECH at the Metering Days in Fulda

With over 1,100 trade visitors and more than 80 exhibitors, the Metering Days, which took place for the 11th time this year in Fulda from November 20 to 21, broke all previous visitor records and has become one of the most important industry get-togethers for the metering industry.

In addition to the trade exhibition, the 50 plus key note speakers and the subsequent panel discussions are an essential part of the 2-day event, which provides all interested parties with all the important market information.

The motto of this year's Metering Days was “Roll Baby Roll”. The BSI SMGW rollout is coming. However, it is no longer due to the availability of the devices, but to the lack of installation capacity. On average, only 10% of iMSys have been installed so far. 500 metering point operators have not yet started the rollout. By 2025, 20% of the mandatory installations should be in place. There is therefore still a need for action on the part of the metering point operators, is the general tenor.

In addition, many discussions with municipal utilities, which have already started the rollout on a massive scale, have shown that there is now also great interest in connecting gas meters to the BSI SMGW.

“From WEPTECH's point of view, we are of course pleased about this positive trend, as we started developing our wM-Bus communication adapters for gas meters at an early stage and will be able to serve the market in sufficient quantities in 2025. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all visitors once again for their positive response and innovative input,” said Wolfgang Esch - Head of Sales & Marketing at WEPTECH elektronik.
