ORIOL pulse adapter receives PTB certification - paving the way for rollout in smart metering
Last week, the ORIOL pulse adapter received the type examination certificate from the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB). With this certification, the device is officially approved for use in smart metering systems under calibration law and meets all the requirements of measurement and calibration law.
The ORIOL was specially developed for reading conventional gas meters via pulse interfaces and enables them to be connected to a smart meter gateway (SMGW). It thus closes a crucial gap in the digitalization of gas meters and supports network operators and metering point operators in the rollout of smart metering systems.
Thanks to its compact design and secure communication in accordance with BSI specifications, the ORIOL is ideal for widespread use and can be connected to any gas meter via a pulse pick-up. The PTB certification underlines the technical maturity and legal conformity of the product.
"With the successful type examination of the ORIOL, we are setting another milestone in the digitalization of the energy infrastructure. The adapter enables an economical and standard-compliant connection of existing gas meters to the world of smart metering systems."
