Mioty Board Member Meeting at WEPTECH in Landau

On June 24, the Mioty Board Member Meeting took place at WEPTECH in Landau. Wolfgang Esch, Head of Sales & Marketing at WEPTECH and Board Member of the Mioty Alliance, had invited to the regular meeting.

Oswald Maurer, Managing Director of WEPTECH Elektronik GmbH and Advisory Board Member of the mioty Alliance, took the opportunity to personally welcome all participants to the two-day meeting and to show them around the new administration building and the new, state-of-the-art production facilities.

Once the statutory regulations and current strategic marketing tasks had been completed, the participants focused on the latest product innovations relating to “mioty technology”.

WEPTECH presented two current mioty solutions from the field.

WEPTECH presented the successful “go-live operation” of its own Mioty network with manufacturer-independent endpoints and connection to its own service and application center. For this purpose, a monopole antenna was connected to the mioty Gateway AVA on the roof of the production facility and put into operation. During the initial tests, a radio link of more than five kilometers was established from the gateway to the mioty temperature sensors installed in the surrounding area.

The second pilot project, which was presented to the interested participants, comes from agricultural practice, specifically from regional viticulture. The focus here is on monitoring environmental parameters, which shows how even smaller vineyards can benefit from modern LPWAN technology. By installing a Mioty base station and several battery-operated sensors in the vineyard, the winegrower can easily and efficiently monitor soil moisture, among other things. The data can be sent directly from the “Wingert” to a central IoT platform, where it can be visualized and evaluated.

For the winery team, this means more precise irrigation decisions, better planning of plant protection measures and a noticeable reduction in the use of resources.

The meeting was rounded off with an evening together at the beautiful Meßmer winery, where the participants were able to round off the day in a relaxed atmosphere - with good conversation, regional specialties and a glass of Palatinate wine.

All in all, it was a successful, interesting and enjoyable event that will certainly be repeated in Landau.
